1. Get your information ready

Gather your academic education details and records of your project management education. Use accurate course names and hours, and retain proof of completion in case PMI asks for supporting documents.

2. Complete your PMI application

Start at the official PMI CAPM certification page. Register for a PMI.org account, then enter your academic education and professional education details. You can save your application and return to it.

Review every entry before submitting. If selected for an audit, follow the instructions PMI sends you rather than submitting payment or scheduling based on an assumed approval date.

3. Check acceptance and pay

Once PMI accepts your application, follow the payment instructions in your account. Check the current fee, currency, taxes, and any membership pricing at checkout. This wiki does not quote a fixed fee because pricing can change.

4. Schedule your exam

After payment, choose a Pearson VUE testing center or an available online-proctored appointment. Review the delivery requirements before choosing.

PMI allows up to three exam attempts within a one-year eligibility period. Review the handbook for retake, cancellation, and rescheduling rules before booking.
